4th Annual Franklin Park Public Library Holiday Open House

| November 17, 2015

Visit your Library on Saturday, December 12 @ 1:00-4:00pm for our annual holiday extravaganza! This year will be bigger and better than ever!

Come prepared for an afternoon full of fun and activities for all ages. Have you ever wanted to learn how to knit or crochet? Join a mini-session of our Knit & Crochet Group. Are you a teen that’s totally into anime or manga? Stop by a mini-meeting of our Anime Club. Do your kids want a quick storytime? Visit Kids Crossing for one of our mini-storytimes. We’ll be highlighting all that the Library has to offer the community today.

Did you know that your Franklin Park Library card gives you access to streaming movies, music, and TV shows? Did you know that you can also download eBooks and audiobooks? Librarians and volunteers will be on hand to tell you all about hoopla, eRead Illinois, eMediaLibrary, Zinio, and a bunch of other digital resources. Just make sure to bring your favorite device (smartphone, eReader, or tablet) and your valid Franklin Park Library card. Don’t have your library card yet? Today’s the perfect day to register for one!

We’ve got you information-seekers covered, too. Come and learn about our valuable databases like Transparent Language Online (learn a foreign language!), Universal Class (take a free class!), Auto Repair Reference Center (learn how to fix your vehicle!), and many others.

If all of that’s not enough, we will have live musical entertainment during the afternoon. The Friends of the Library will also be offering a mini-book sale. All proceeds raised go to their group, which supports the Library by providing volunteer services, sponsoring library events, and funding library programs. Interested in becoming a Friend? Today is the perfect chance to find out more and join.

It’s bound to be another fun and festive afternoon for everyone! Won’t you join us?
