Franklin Park Public Library District

We are located at 10311 Grand Avenue in Franklin Park, IL and offer a range of services and programs for children, teens, and adults.  Further information is available at www.fppld.org or by calling 847-455-6016.

Unless otherwise noted, registration is required for ALL library programs.

April 1 – Arts & Snacks – Drop in for some art! Create a masterpiece at your library. We will have all sorts of art supplies available and a bunch of snacks to keep you going. This program is for teens & adults. 1:00-4:00pm

April 3 – Coding Club – Are you good at solving puzzles? Join us to experiment with coding and uncover all the wonderful things you can do with computers & robots! Limit 10. Grades 3-5. 4:00-5:00pm

April 4 – Tween Tuesday – Are you looking for a place to hang out with your friends while learning, creating, and exploring? Join us once a month for games, crafts, and more. Light snacks will be provided. Limit 15. Grades 4-6. 5:00-6:00pm

April 5 – Library Quilt & Sew Club – Join us for casual discussion about quilting & sewing, and showing completed projects. We embrace all quilting and sewing skills. 10:00am-12:00pm

April 5 – Comics for Kids Club – Join us for this NEW comics club where you will get a chance to read entertaining titles and talk about them with other kids. This month, we’re discussing Hippopotamister by John Patrick Green. Light snacks will be provided. Copies of each book will be available at the Circulation Desk about a month prior to the meeting date. Limit 15. Grades 1-2.  4:00-4:45pm

April 6 – Full STEAM Ahead – Join us as we travel full STEAM ahead into science, technology, engineering, art, and math! Limit 30. Grades 1-3. 4:00-5:00pm

April 6 – Parker’s Storytime – Explore the alphabet with books, songs, and rhymes in this fun storytime. Limit 20. Ages 3-5 with caregiver. 4:00-5:00pm

April 7 – Morning Movers Storytime – Develop your child’s early literacy skills through songs, rhymes, reading, and play. Limit 20. Ages 0-3 with caregiver. 10:00-11:00am

April 7 – Friday Flicks – Join us each month to watch a newly released movie! This month’s movie is Hacksaw Ridge (R). Refreshments will also be available. 2:00-4:30pm

April 7 – Friday Family Flicks – Join us each month for a family-friendly movie! This month’s movie is Moana (PG). Refreshments will also be available. 6:00-7:45pm

April 8 – Friends of the Library Meeting – The Friends of the Franklin Park Library support the Franklin Park Library by providing volunteer services, sponsoring library events, and funding library programs. New members are always welcome. 9:30-11:00am

April 8 – Knit & Crochet Group – New members always welcome! Join fellow crafters from every skill level. Learn tips and tricks and share projects you’re creating. 1:00-3:00pm

April 8 – TAB Meeting – The Teen Advisory Board is a place to share ideas about activities, materials, and changes to make the Library a destination for teens. Members, please join us for our bimonthly meeting. Lunch will be provided! 1:00-2:00pm

April 11 – Morning Storytime – Join us twice a month for a themed storytime filled with stories, songs, and other activities that encourage a love of language and learning. Limit 10. Ages 3-5 with caregiver. 10:00-10:30am

April 12 – My World Wednesday – Discover new languages, cultures, and traditions with stories, songs and rhymes from around the world. Each month will be a new and interactive storytime. Limit 20. All ages. 4:30-5:30pm

April 14 – Tabletop Gaming Club – If you enjoy playing various board games, then this is the program for you! Grab some friends and visit your library to play from a selection of classic and new tabletop games. This program is for teens & adults. 6:00-8:00pm

April 24 – Understanding Credit Reports – Join us during Money Smart Week© as representatives from Leyden Credit Union share valuable information about your credit report. They’ll discuss how to understand your credit report, what goes into a credit report, and how you can improve your credit score. Refreshments will also be available. 6:30-7:30pm

April 25 – Morning Storytime – Join us twice a month for a themed storytime filled with stories, songs, and other activities that encourage a love of language and learning. Limit 10. Ages 3-5 with caregiver. 10:00-10:30am

April 25 – DIY Piggy Bank – Celebrate Money Smart Week© at your library with a family friendly piggy bank craft. Each child will receive a piggy bank to personalize. Limit 40. 6:00-7:00pm

April 26 – Friends of the Library Fundraiser – Enjoy delicious food and help the Friends of the Library! Visit Portillo’s of Northlake today between 5:00-8:00pm and show them your flyer or mention the Friends of the Franklin Park Library when you order. The Friends will receive 20% of the proceeds. 5:00-8:00pm

April 26 – Scrapbooking Club – Bring your photos, unfinished scrapbooks, and any material you’d like to trade with others. For teens and adults. 5:30-8:00pm

April 27 – Nailed It!: Simple Construction – Work on cool DIY projects! This month, we’re making bird feeders. Hammers are involved, so permission slips are required. Limit 15. Grades 3-5.  5:00-6:00pm

April 27 – College Illinois! Information Session – Representatives from the Illinois Student Assistance Commission join us during Money Smart Week© to share information about College Illinois!, the state’s program to help Illinois families prepay for future college tuition at today’s plan rates. Learn about how College Illinois! works, the different kinds of plans, and other information about the program. 7:00-8:00pm

April 28 – Morning Movers Storytime – Develop your child’s early literacy skills through songs, rhymes, reading, and play. Limit 20. Ages 0-3 with caregiver. 10:00-11:00am

April 28 – Anime Club – Come join us at Anime Club! Draw and paint your own manga. Snack on delicious Japanese snacks. Watch your favorite anime. Grades 7-12. 6:00-7:30pm

April 29 – Wonderland Tea Party – Join us for the First Annual Wonderland Tea Party! Enjoy tea, treats, and good conversation. You might even go home with a fun raffle prize! This program is for teens and adults. Registration is required. Limit 40. This program is made possible with the help of the Franklin Park Woman’s Club. 11:00am-1:00pm
