Unless otherwise noted, registration is required for ALL library programs.

April 2 – You Pick Flicks – We let you pick the movie that YOU want to watch. Vote for your favorite, sit back, and enjoy! All ages. 1:00-3:00 pm

April 4 – Library Quilt & Sew Club – Join us for casual discussion about quilting & sewing, and showing completed projects. We embrace all quilting and sewing skills. 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

April 6 – Parker’s Playtime – Join us for some open play! Children and their caregivers can use soft toys and manipulatives, puzzles, blocks, and building toys in a welcoming environment that fosters curiosity and learning. Ages 0-3 with caregiver. 10:00-11:00 am

April 6 – Minecraft Meet-Up – Hang out with fellow Minecrafters and participate in some offline activities! Please note: This program is unplugged, meaning that we will not be providing Minecraft on our devices, but you are welcome to bring your own device to show off your creations, with parental permission. Grades K and up. 4:30-5:30 pm

April 7 – Kid’s Advisory Board – It’s time to make your voice heard! Share your ideas with us so we can work together to make your library even better. Registration is required. Grades 3-6. 1:00-2:00 pm

April 7 – Arts & Snacks – Drop in for some art! Create a masterpiece at your library. We will have all sorts of art supplies available and a bunch of snacks to keep you going. This program is for teens and adults. 1:00-4:00 pm

April 9 – LEGO Club – If you are an experienced builder or a first timer, this is the place for you! During this drop-in program, we provide the LEGO bricks and monthly challenges while you provide the imagination. All ages. 4:00-6:00 pm

April 10 – Spring Craft: Paint Stirrer Flag – Get patriotic when you make your own paint stirrer flag. Adults only. Limit 25 per session. 2:00-3:00 pm

April 11 – Mr. Lemoncello’s Great Library Escape Game – We are celebrating National Library Week by bringing the excitement of the Mr. Lemoncello’s Library series to Kids Crossing! Just like the characters in the book, you will go on a scavenger hunt in the book stacks of the kids department to solve a mystery. Grades 3 and up. 4:00-5:00 pm

April 11 – Friends of the Library Fundraiser – Enjoy delicious food and help the Friends! Visit Portillo’s of Northlake and mention you’re there for the Friends of the Franklin Park Library when you order. The Friends will receive 20% of the proceeds. Note: Please make sure to check that your receipt is marked “FUNDRAISER” to ensure that your meal is attributed to the Friends. 5:00-8:00 pm

April 12 – A Beginner’s Guide to the Golden Age of Radio – Radio historian and Those Were the Days host Steve Darnall looks at some of the biggest shows and stars to emerge from the early years of radio, including Jack Benny, Bob Hope, Amos & Andy, and The Shadow. Learn about how radio became America’s first mass medium, transforming the United States of America from 48 states into a national listening community. 6:00-7:00 pm

April 13 – Friday Flicks – Join us each month to watch a newly released movie! This month’s movie is Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (R). Refreshments will also be available. 2:00-4:00 pm

April 13 – Friday Family Flicks – Join us each month for a family-friendly movie! This month’s movie is Labyrinth (PG). Refreshments will also be available. 6:00-7:45 pm

April 14 – Friends of the Library Meeting – The Friends of the Franklin Park Library support the Franklin Park Library by providing volunteer services, sponsoring library events, and funding library programs. New members are always welcome. 9:30-11:00 am

April 14 – Knit & Crochet Group – New members always welcome! Join fellow crafters from every skill level. Learn tips and tricks and share projects you’re creating. 1:00-3:00 pm

April 18 – Coding Club – Stop by to experiment with coding and uncover all the wonderful things you can do with computers & robots! Grades 1-6. 4:00-5:00 pm

April 19 – Full STEAM Ahead – Join us as we travel full STEAM ahead into science, technology, engineering, art, and math! Grades 1-3. 4:00-5:00 pm

April 20 – Parker’s Playtime – Join us for some open play! Children and their caregivers can use soft toys and manipulatives, puzzles, blocks, and building toys in a welcoming environment that fosters curiosity and learning. Ages 0-3 with caregiver. 10:00-11:00 am

April 20 – ABCs of Art – Learn new techniques and create artwork inspired by the masters. Grades K-3. 4:00-5:00 pm

April 20 – Tabletop Gaming Club – If you enjoy playing various board games then this is the program for you! Grab some friends and visit your library to play from a selection of classic and new tabletop games. This program is for teens and adults. 6:00-8:30 pm

April 21 – Silent Reading Party – Bring a book, take a seat, and read in this drop-in event for as long as your schedule allows. Grades 7-12. 2:00-3:00 pm

April 21 – Video Gaming Event – Do you love playing video games? Come by for open gaming with the Chicago Gaming League. Play games and learn about careers in gaming and technology. Ages 8 – adult. 2:00-4:00 pm

April 25 – Now You’re Cooking! – Have fun making yummy recipes, and then sample your culinary creations. Due to the popularity of this event, no walk-ins will be accepted. Grades 2-8. 4:00-5:00 pm

April 26 – STEAM Jr. – All the fun of Full STEAM Ahead for the younger set. There will be fun, hands-on experiments, so be prepared to get messy! Grades PreK-K. 4:00-5:00 pm

April 27 – Parker’s Playtime – Join us for some open play! Children and their caregivers can use soft toys and manipulatives, puzzles, blocks, and building toys in a welcoming environment that fosters curiosity and learning. Ages 0-3 with caregiver. 10:00-11:00 am

April 27 – Anime Club – Come join us at Anime Club! Draw and paint your own manga. Snack on delicious Japanese snacks and watch your favorite Anime. Grades 7-12. 6:00-7:30 pm
