April 2 – Sensory Art – Encourage your little ones to explore their senses with art projects chosen with them in mind. Ages 0-2 with caregiver. 4:00-5:00 pm

April 3 – Library Quilt & Sew Club – Join us for casual discussion about quilting & sewing, and showing completed projects. We embrace all quilting and sewing skills. 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

April 3 – Home Buyers Seminar – Buying a home is exciting but it can also be a little overwhelming. Through this presentation, you’ll learn the various steps involved in purchasing a home and preparing financially. Join us during Money Smart Week© for a complimentary home buying mortgage seminar hosted by Leyden Credit Union. 7:00-8:00 pm

April 4 – Now You’re Cooking! – Have fun making yummy recipes and then sampling your culinary creations. Registration is required. Due to the popularity of this program, no walk-ins will be accepted. Grades 2-6. 4:00-5:00 pm

April 5 – Morning Movers – Introduce your little ones to early literacy skills through reading, rhymes, songs and play. Ages 0-3 with caregiver. 10:00-11:00 am

April 6 – Arts & Snacks – Create a masterpiece at your library. We will have all sorts of art supplies available and a bunch of snacks to keep you going. This program is for teens and adults. 1:00-4:00 pm

April 8 – LEGO Club – If you are an experienced builder or a first timer, this is the place for you! During this drop-in program, we provide the LEGO bricks and monthly challenges while you provide the imagination. All ages. 4:00-6:00 pm

April 9 – Spring Craft: Macramé Plant Hanger & Tea Cup Bird Feeder – Macramé is making a comeback! Come make your own macramé plant hanger and a tea cup bird feeder. Adults only. Limit 20. Registration is required. 2:00-3:30 pm

April 9 – Diary of an Awesome Friendly Kid Book Release Party – Join us as we celebrate the release of the newest book by Jeff Kinney. Kids will hear a teaser chapter, be able to participate in activities, and have a chance to win prizes! Grades 2 & up. 4:00-5:00 pm

April 10 – Musical Munchkins – Explore the joys of music with your child. Ages 0-5 with caregiver. 5:00-6:00 pm

April 10 – Spring Craft: Macramé Plant Hanger & Tea Cup Bird Feeder – Macramé is making a comeback! Come make your own macramé plant hanger and a tea cup bird feeder. Adults only. Limit 20. Registration is required. 6:00-7:30 pm

April 11 – Poetry and Pancakes – Share your favorite poems as you feast on pancakes! Grades 1 & up. 4:00-5:00 pm

April 12 – Friday Flicks – Join us each month to watch a newly released movie! This month’s movie is A Star is Born (R), starring Bradley Cooper, Lady Gaga, and Sam Elliott. Refreshments will also be available. 2:00-4:15 pm

April 12 – Tabletop Gaming Club – If you enjoy playing various board games then this is the program for you! Grab some friends and visit your library to play from a selection of classic and new tabletop games. This program is for teens and adults. 6:00-8:00 pm

April 13 – Friends of the Library Meeting – The Friends of the Franklin Park Library support the Franklin Park Library by providing volunteer services, sponsoring library events, and funding library programs. New members are always welcome. 9:30-11:00 am

April 13 – Knit & Crochet Group – New members always welcome! Join fellow crafters from every skill level. Learn tips and tricks and share projects you’re creating. 1:00-3:00 pm

April 15 – Fun-Ologies – Come explore interesting topics with Fun-Ologies! In April, learn about Oceanology. Grades 3 and up. 4:30-5:30 pm

April 16 – SNAP Info Session – Enjoy refreshments and learn more about SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) and other public benefits. Return on April 23rd beginning at 11:00 am for enrollment appointments. Presented by AgeOptions. 11:00 am – 12:00 pm

April 16 – Kids Advisory Board – Share your ideas with us so we can work together to make your library even better! Registration is required. Grades 1-6. 4:30-5:00 pm

April 16 – Meditate the Stress Away – Join us on National Stress Awareness Day to practice some easy ways to meditate. Wear comfortable clothing and bring a towel or yoga mat to sit on. For teens and adults. 7:00-8:00 pm

April 18 – Get Crafty! – Get your craft on! You will have an opportunity to show off your crafting skills when you attend this make and take program. Grades 1-6. 4:00-5:00 pm

April 19 – Morning Movers – Introduce your little ones to early literacy skills through reading, rhymes, songs and play. Ages 0-3 with caregiver. 10:00-11:00 am

April 19 – Craft Club: Sharpie Mugs – For this month’s craft club, we’re making Sharpie mugs! Come make a work of art and choose the next craft! Grades 6-12. 7:00-8:00 pm

April 23 – Advanced Bullet Journaling – Learn how to take your bullet journal to the next level! We will provide a brief introduction to bullet journaling and then delve into more advanced techniques and ideas. Please bring your existing bullet journal or a blank notebook and any pens/pencils/markers you plan on using. Limit 25. Registration is required. For teens and adults. 7:00-8:00 pm

April 24 – Craft with Me – Stop by to create a fun craft or two with your child. Grades Pre-K & K with a caregiver. 4:00-5:00 pm

April 24 – Book Hedgies – Recycle some damaged books to create adorable book hedgehogs. Grades 6-12. 7:00-8:00 pm

April 25 – Cooking with the Kiddos – Introduce your child to the joys of food with a hands on cooking program for the younger crowd. Grades Pre-K-1st with caregiver. 5:00-6:00 pm

April 25 – Killer Reads Book Club – Join us on the fourth Thursday evening of each month to delve into the deep, dark world of true crime. This month we will be discussing I’ll Be Gone in the Dark: One Woman’s Obsessive Search for the Golden State Killer by Michelle McNamara. Refreshments will be provided. Copies of the book can be picked up at the Circulation Desk a month before the meeting date. 7:00-8:00 pm

April 26 – Morning Movers – Introduce your little ones to early literacy skills through reading, rhymes, songs and play. Ages 0-3 with caregiver. 10:00-11:00 am

April 26 – Magic Tree House: A Party at the Library – Come on an adventure with Jack, Annie, and the Kids Crossing staff in the Magic Tree House! There will be games, activities, and more! Grades K & up. 4:00-5:00 pm

April 26 – Library Café – Kick back, relax, and enjoy some food and music. Join us for our low-key Library Café. Sign up required. Grades 6-12. 6:00-7:00 pm

April 30 – Día Storytime – Help us celebrate El día de los niños/El día de los libros with a storytime and a craft. All ages. 4:00-5:00 pm
