April 1 – The Monarch Butterfly Project – Come hear a Master Gardener talk about Monarch butterflies and take home a plant to attract butterflies to your yard. This program is presented by the University of Illinois Extension College of Agricultural, Consumer, and Environment Sciences. Grade K-6. Limit 40. 2:00-4:00pm

April 1 – Card Game Night – It’s card game night at the library. Bring in your trading cards such as Magic The Gathering, Yu-gi-oh, Pokemon TCG, and more. Get your decks ready for a fun filled night! Snacks will be served. Grades 7-12. Limit 20. 6:00-7:00pm

April 2 – Arts & Snacks – Drop in for some art! Create a masterpiece at your library. We will have all sorts of art supplies available and a bunch of snacks to keep you going. For teens and adults. 1:00-4:00pm

April 5 – Study Hall – Need a quiet place to do your homework or work on a project? Spread out in our meeting rooms. Grades 7-12. 3:00-8:00pm

April 5 – Tween Tuesday – Spring forward with us as we “Wreck This Journal.” Limit 20. Grades 4-6. 6:00-7:00pm

April 6 – Library Quilt & Sew Club – Join us for crafting and camaraderie. We embrace all quilting and sewing skills. 10:00am-12:00pm

April 6 – How To Start Your Garden & Its Care – Get advice from a Master Gardener. Learn new ideas or improve on what you already have. Questions are welcome! This program is presented by the University of Illinois Extension College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences. 6:00-7:30pm

April 7 – Parker’s Storytime – Join us for books, songs, and rhymes in this fun storytime! Ages 3-5 years old w/ caregiver. Limit 20. 4:00-5:00pm

April 7 – Full STEAM Ahead – Join us as we travel full STEAM ahead into science, technology, engineering, art, and math!  Grades 1–3. 4:00-5:00pm

April 8 – Once Upon a Prom – Do you need a prom dress? Join us for the 5th Annual Once Upon a Prom! Browse and try on over 150 dresses, and take one home for free. For high school students only. 4:00-8:00pm

April 9 – Once Upon a Prom – Do you need a prom dress? Join us for the 5th Annual Once Upon a Prom! Browse and try on over 150 dresses, and take one home for free. For high school students only. 9:00am-2:00pm

April 12 – Study Hall – Need a quiet place to do your homework or work on a project? Spread out in our meeting rooms. Grades 7-12. 3:00-8:00pm

April 12 – Library Board Meeting – Board meetings are open to the public. Meetings are typically held on the second Tuesday of each month. 7:30-8:30pm

April 13 – Adult Indoor Recess – Make new friends or socialize with old ones while you enjoy board games, chess, Wii games, coloring pages, and much more. All skill levels are welcome. Bring back memories of days gone by and create new ones! 10:00am-12:00pm

April 13 – Lego Club – Build whatever leaps into your imagination! Lego Club offers a time to relax and create. Limit 40. All Ages. 6:00-7:30pm

April 15 – Morning Movers Storytime – Develop your child’s early literacy skills through songs, rhymes, reading, and play. Ages 0-3 years old w/ caregiver. Limit 20. 10:00-11:00am

April 15 – Friends of the Franklin Park Library Fundraiser – Enjoy delicious food and help the Friends of the Library! Visit LuLu Bell’s Pancake House today between 8am and 3pm and 10% of your purchase will be donated to the Friends. 8:00am-3:00pm

April 15 – DIY Spa Day – Relax and let the stress melt away! Make a Sweet Vanilla Sugar scrub at the library. Grades 7-12. 6:00-7:30pm

April 16 – Friends of the Library Meeting – The Friends of the Franklin Park Library support the Franklin Park Library by providing volunteer services, sponsoring library events, and funding library programs. New members are always welcome. 9:30-11:00am

April 16 – Knit & Crochet Group – Join fellow crafters from every skill level. Learn tips and tricks and share projects you’re creating. 1:00-3:00pm

April 18 – Adult Coloring Club – Coloring isn’t just for kids anymore! Join us for a stress-relieving evening of coloring! Coloring pages and colored pencils will be provided for use, but feel free to bring in your own art supplies, too. 6:00-8:00pm

April 19 – Study Hall – Need a quiet place to do your homework or work on a project? Spread out in our meeting rooms. Grades 7-12. 3:00-8:00pm

April 20 – Library Quilt & Sew Club – Join us for crafting and camaraderie. We embrace all quilting and sewing skills. 10:00am-12:00pm

April 20 – Shameless Reads Book Club – We read romance and we are unashamed! Care to join in on the fun? This month, we will be discussing Real by Katy Evans. Pick up your copy of the book at the Circulation Desk starting a month before the discussion date. Adults only. 6:00-7:00pm

April 21 – Parker’s Storytime – Join us for books, songs, and rhymes in this fun storytime! Ages 3-5 years old w/ caregiver. Limit 20. 4:00-5:00pm

April 21 – Mother & Daughter Book Club – Join us as we discuss Victoria Schwab’s Everyday Angel: New Beginnings. We will also enjoy some refreshments and share other books we have recently read. Grades 4-6 w/ caregiver. 4:00-5:30pm

April 22 – Morning Movers Storytime – Develop your child’s early literacy skills through songs, rhymes, reading, and play. Ages 0-3 years old w/ caregiver. Limit 20. 10:00-11:00am

April 22 – Friday Flicks – Join us each month to watch a newly released movie! This month’s movie is The Danish Girl (R). Refreshments will also be available. 2:00–4:00pm

April 22 – Friday Family Flicks – Join us each month for a family-friendly movie! This month’s movie is The Peanuts Movie (G). Refreshments will also be available. 6:00–7:30pm

April 26 – Toddler Art – Explore art through paint, sculpture, and more! Dress to get messy. Ages 2-4 years old w/ caregiver. Limit 25. 10:00-11:00am

April 26 – Study Hall – Need a quiet place to do your homework or work on a project? Spread out in our meeting rooms. Grades 7-12. 3:00-8:00pm

April 27 – Scrapbooking Club – Bring your photos, unfinished scrapbooks, and any material you’d like to trade with others. For teens and adults. 6:00-8:00pm

April 28 – Día de los Niños – Let’s celebrate! Join us for stories, music, games, and treats. All Ages. Limit 50. 6:00-7:00pm

April 29 – Morning Movers Storytime – Develop your child’s early literacy skills through songs, rhymes, reading, and play. Ages 0-3 years old w/ caregiver. Limit 20. 10:00-11:00am

April 29 – Anime Club – Draw and paint your own manga, snack on delicious Japanese snacks, and watch your favorite Anime. Grades 7-12. 6:00-7:30pm
