We are located at 10311 Grand Avenue in Franklin Park, IL and offer a range of services and programs for children, teens, and adults.  Further information is available at www.fppld.org or by calling 847-455-6016.

Unless otherwise noted, registration is required for ALL library programs.

Hours of Service: Monday-Friday: 9 AM – 9 PM     Saturday: 9 AM – 5 PM     Sunday: CLOSED


August 2 – National Coloring Book Day – Do you love coloring? It’s a popular pastime for all ages. We will have special areas set up in the library for people to color and socialize if they’d like. Otherwise, stop in and choose from our huge assortment of free coloring sheets to take home and enjoy. 9:00am-8:30pm

August 3 – Library Quilt & Sew Club – Join us for casual discussion about quilting & sewing, and showing completed projects. We embrace all quilting and sewing skills. 10:00am-12:00pm

August 4 – Mother & Daughter Book Club – We will discuss New Beginnings by Victoria Schwab. Copies will be available at the Circulation Desk beginning in late June. Grades 4-6 with caregiver. 4:00-5:30pm

August 6 – Arts & Snacks – Create a masterpiece at your library. We will have all sorts of art supplies available and a bunch of snacks to keep you going. For teens and adults. 1:00-4:00pm

August 9 – Library Board Meeting – Board meetings are open to the public. Meetings are typically held on the second Tuesday of each month. 7:30-8:30pm

August 10 – Perler Bead Projects – Design a creation, then melt them together to make magnets or decorations. Perler bead crafts are foolproof and fun! Limit 10. Registration is required. Grades 7-12. 6:00-7:00pm

August 12 – Friday Flicks – Join us each month to watch a newly released movie! This month’s movie is Whiskey Tango Foxtrot (R). Refreshments will also be available. 2:00-3:35pm

August 12 – Friday Family Flicks – Join us each month for a family-friendly movie! This month’s movie is Zootopia (PG). Refreshments will also be available. 6:00-7:50pm

August 13 – Friends of the Library Meeting – The Friends of the Franklin Park Library support the Franklin Park Library by providing volunteer services, sponsoring library events, and funding library programs. New members are always welcome. 9:30-11:00am

August 13 – Knit & Crochet Group – Join fellow crafters from every skill level. Learn tips and tricks and share projects you’re creating. 1:00-3:00pm

August 14 – Friends of the Franklin Park Library Fundraiser – Pick up a special flyer from the library beginning in August and help the Friends! During the week of August 14-20, bring the flyer along with your donation to Savers – Franklin Park and the Friends will receive a portion of the value of the donated items.

August 15 – Adult Coloring Club – Coloring isn’t just for kids anymore! Join us for a stress-relieving evening of coloring! Coloring pages and colored pencils will be provided for use, but feel free to bring in your own art supplies, too. 6:00-8:00pm

August 16 – Origami & Papercraft – Enjoy a relaxing night of paper crafting at your library. Have the freedom to craft to your heart’s content. For teens and adults. Limit 20. 6:00-7:00pm

August 19 – Summer Book Sale – Looking for a great deal on new or gently used books, CDs, DVDs, and videos? Come to the Friends of the Library’s Summer Book Sale! 5:00-8:00pm

August 20 – Summer Book Sale – Looking for a great deal on new or gently used books, CDs, DVDs, and videos? Come to the Friends of the Library’s Summer Book Sale! 10:00am-4:00pm

August 22 – Study Hall – Need a place to do your schoolwork? Is there a project due that you need to work on? Come in for Library Study Hall. Spread out in our meeting room and put distractions aside! Grades 7-12. 3:00-8:00pm

August 23 – Tabletop Gaming Club – Grab some friends and visit your library to play from a selection of classic and new tabletop games. This program is for teens & adults. 6:00-7:30pm

August 26 – Anime Club – Draw and paint your own manga. Snack on delicious Japanese snacks. Watch your favorite Anime. Grades 7-12. 6:00-7:30pm

August 27 – Once Upon a Homecoming – It’s our first annual  Homecoming dress and accessories giveaway! Come and find the perfect dress to wear. Raffle prizes will also be given away. This program is for high school students only. 10:00am-3:00pm

August 29 – Study Hall – Need a place to do your schoolwork? Is there a project due that you need to work on? Come in for Library Study Hall. Spread out in our meeting room and put distractions aside! Grades 7-12. 3:00-8:00pm

August 31 – Scrapbooking Club – Bring your photos, unfinished scrapbooks, and any material you’d like to trade with others. For teens and adults. 6:00-8:00pm
