We are located at 10311 Grand Avenue in Franklin Park, IL and offer a range of services and programs for children, teens and adults. Further information is available at www.fppld.org or by calling 847-455-6016.

Unless otherwise noted, registration is required for ALL library programs.

August 1 – Library Quilt & Sew Club – Join us for casual discussion about quilting & sewing, and showing completed projects. We embrace all quilting and sewing skills. 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

August 2 – Summer Splash Party – Escape the summer heat with some splish-splashy fun at the Library. All ages. (Weather Permitting) 5:00-6:00 pm

August 3 – Morning Movers Storytime – Your baby is always learning and we offer a great environment to explore and grow. Move around with our songs and rhymes, share a book or two and introduce your little one to the world. We can’t wait to see you! Ages 0-3 with adult. 10:00-11:00 am

August 3 – Minecraft Meet-Up – Hang out with fellow Minecrafters and participate in some offline activities! Please note: This program is unplugged, meaning that we will not be providing Minecraft on our devices, but you are welcome to bring your own device to show off your creations, with parental permission. Grades K and up. 4:00-5:00 pm

August 3 – Tabletop Gaming Club – If you enjoy playing various board games then this is the program for you! Grab some friends and visit your library to play from a selection of classic and new tabletop games. This program is for teens and adults. 6:00-8:30 pm

August 7 – Budding Bookworms – Develop your preschooler’s love of reading with a storytime geared just for them. Ages 3-5 with caregiver. 2:00-3:00 pm

August 8 – Minute to Win It Family Challenge – Come and partake in some quirky fun with your family and see which team has what it takes! All ages. 5:00-6:00 pm

August 9 – Cooking with the Kiddos – Introduce your child to the joys of food with a hands-on cooking program for the younger crowd. Grades Prek-1 with caregiver. 5:00-6:00 pm

August 10 – Friday Flicks – Join us each month to watch a newly released movie! This month’s movie is The Leisure Seeker (Rated R). Refreshments will also be available. 2:00-4:00 pm

August 10 – Tabletop Gaming Club – If you enjoy playing various board games then this is the program for you! Grab some friends and visit your library to play from a selection of classic and new tabletop games. This program is for teens and adults. 6:00-8:30 pm

August 11 – Friends of the Library Meeting – The Friends of the Franklin Park Library support the Franklin Park Library by providing volunteer services, sponsoring library events, and funding library programs. New members are always welcome. 9:30-11:00 am

August 11 – Knit & Crochet Group – New members always welcome! Join fellow crafters from every skill level. Learn tips and tricks and share projects you’re creating. 1:00-3:00 pm

August 11 – All Write: A Writers’ Group – Join our group and discuss your writing projects. Get tips and more and share your ideas with a community. Grades 7-12. 2:00-3:00 pm

August 13 – LEGO Club – Whether you are an experienced builder or a first timer, this is the place for you! During this drop-in program, we provide the LEGO bricks and monthly challenges to spark your imagination. All ages. 4:00-6:00 pm

August 14 – Budding Bookworms – Develop your preschooler’s love of reading with a storytime geared just for them. Ages 3-5 with caregiver. 2:00-3:00 pm

August 15 – Musical Munchkins – Explore the joys of music with your child. Ages 0-5 with caregiver. 5:00-6:00 pm

August 17 – Summer Book Sale – Looking for a great deal on new or gently used books, CDs, DVDs, and videos? Come to the Friends of the Library’s spring book sale!  5:00-8:00 pm

August 18 – Summer Book Sale – Looking for a great deal on new or gently used books, CDs, DVDs, and videos? Come to the Friends of the Library’s spring book sale! 10:00 am – 2:00 pm

August 18 – Sensory Saturdays – Stimulate your child’s senses by creating items for sensory play. Ages 0-5 with caregiver. 10:00-11:00 am

August 18 – Escape the Library – Put your puzzle solving skills to the test and challenge our escape room! Can you Escape the Library? Grades 7-12. 2:00-4:00 pm

August 21 – Budding Bookworms – Develop your preschooler’s love of reading with a storytime geared just for them. Ages 3-5 with caregiver. 2:00-3:00 pm

August 22 – Craft with Me – Stop by and create a fun craft or two with your child. Ages 0-5 with caregiver. 4:00-5:00 pm

August 23 – Craft Club – Join us for our monthly craft club. We will focus on a specific craft each session. Grades 7-12. 6:00-7:30 pm

August 24 – Morning Movers Storytime – Your baby is always learning and we offer a great environment to explore and grow. Move around with our songs and rhymes, share a book or two and introduce your little one to the world. We can’t wait to see you! Ages 0-3 with adult. 10:00-11:00 am

August 24 – Campfire Fun – Nothing says summer like a campfire! Gather your family around for spooky stories, yummy snacks, and fun songs. All ages. 5:00-6:00 pm

August 25 – TAB Meeting – The Teen Advisory Board is a place share ideas about activities, materials, and changes to implement to make the Library a destination for teens. Members, please join us for our quarterly meeting. Lunch will be provided. Grades 7-12. 1:00-2:00 pm

August 28 – Budding Bookworms – Develop your preschooler’s love of reading with a storytime geared just for them. Ages 3-5 with caregiver. 2:00-3:00 pm

August 29 – Welcome to the Jungle – Explore the deep jungle and the animals that live there through folktales, songs, and games. All ages. 4:00-5:00 pm

August 31 –  Morning Movers Storytime – Your baby is always learning and we offer a great environment to explore and grow. Move around with our songs and rhymes, share a book or two and introduce your little one to the world. We can’t wait to see you! Ages 0-3 with adult. 10:00-11:00 am

August 31 – Anime Club – Come join us at Anime Club! Draw and paint your own manga. Snack on delicious Japanese snacks and watch your favorite anime. Grades 7-12. 6:00-7:30 pm
