members. Everyone feasted on a delicious array of pasta, Italian sausage and green peppers, chicken vesuvio, and more, while mingling throughout the afternoon. The holiday spirit was brought out even more when Gianna Capra began singing holiday songs for all to enjoy.

Food and clothing was collected and donated to Sacred Heart Church that afternoon as well. All members that attended received a gift basket and had the opportunity to enter into a “split the pot”, in which half of the total amount goes to the winner and the other half goes into an account for college scholarships. Along with the “split the pot”, a raffle was held that included donated prizes/certificates  from other chamber members. The Chamber graciously thanked all those that donated including:

Anthony B’s Pizza

-Bacci Pizzeria

-Home Run Inn

-Hooters

-Melrose Muscle Therapy

-Nail Paradise

The Chamber also gave a special thanks to Frank Pope, Jr. for capturing the wonderful event by taking pictures and video recording.

New Executive Director

The Chamber welcomed its newest member, Gianna M. Capra, as their new Executive Director. Gianna completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Music Business at Elmhurst College in May 2011. She is currently working full-time at Pan American Bank in Melrose Park, as well as continuing to pursue her singing career.

She is extremely thankful and excited for this opportunity to work with the Chamber and is looking forward to all that is to come!

 Winston Plaza’s Special Donation

Winston Plaza donated a check for $700 to the Chamber this year for their scholarship fund. The check was presented at their annual Holiday Luncheon by Carole Johannesen and Malaika Jenkins. The Chamber thanked them for helping kids continue their education! Winston Plaza has been a great asset to the community. If you have not visited lately, please go see the new center. It is looking great!
