On Saturday, September 7, the Leyden Golf team participated in a community service project that benefited Leyden Family Services, an agency that provides a range of counselling, treatment, and preventative care services for adults, adolescents, senior citizens, children, and families.

Nineteen members of the team volunteered as caddies at the Links & Tees, a driving range and golf course located in Addison.  During the four hour period the students were there, they raised $200 for the organization via free-will donations made by the golfers.

According to Coach Steve Siekierski, the volunteer caddies performed standard caddie duties, including carrying the golfer’s bags, cleaning clubs and balls, and raking sand.

“This was a perfect chance for our student golfers to interact with other people that enjoy the game, as well as to raise funds for a great organization,” Siekierski says.
