The entire menu of soups, noodles, appetizers, and main dishes are home-made from all fresh ingredients.
This family operated business located in Northlake, has been turning out great Thai meals since June of 1986. This business is run by a husband and wife team along with their two daughters . The husband, Don, does all the cooking and handles the kitchen. His wife, Sue, who I interviewed, takes care of the dinning room or service end of the business. Their two daughters are servers also.
I asked Sue about the many different and tasty ingredients used in their dishes. She explained that many of their ingredients are grown fresh in their very own garden every summer. They grow fresh Thai Basil, Mint, Peppers (hot), Tomatoes, Green Onions, and Lemon Grass (soup). The fresh hot pepper can be customized to your preference of hotness. It goes from mild up to extra hot levels.
Some of there more popular dishes are Pad Thai noodles, Stir Fry Basil/Garlic dishes, Thai Egg Rolls, and Cashew Chicken. Everything is made with all natural ingredients and no MSG. There are also Vegetarian dishes available. They will customize your meal to any dietary needs you may require.
My family and I have been eating at Sala Thai on a regular basis since 1989 when we moved into Northlake. The spices and flavors wake up your taste buds and bring a smile to your face. Sala Thai has a friendly atmosphere brought about by the wonderful personalities of this family owned business.
There is a buffet ($8.25) during the week and a brunch ($10.25) on Sunday. You can call ahead for carry out orders from their extensive menu. Menu items are available during the buffet and brunch times.
