We are located at 10311 Grand Avenue in Franklin Park, IL and offer a range of services and programs for children, teens and adults. Further information is available at www.fppld.org or by calling 847-455-6016.

Unless otherwise noted, registration is required for ALL library programs.

February 1 – Morning Movers – Introduce your little ones to early literacy skills through reading, rhymes, songs and play. Ages 0-3 with caregiver. 10:00-11:00 am

February 1 – Roblox Meet-Up – Come hang out with fellow Roblox fans! We will have different activities and snacks. Grades K & up. 4:00-5:00 pm

February 2 – Arts & Snacks – Create a masterpiece at your library. We will have all sorts of art supplies available and a bunch of snacks to keep you going. This program is for teens and adults. 1:00-4:00 pm

February 4 – ESL Cafe – Come to the library for our English conversation group. Visite la biblioteca para participar en el grupo de conversación en inglés. Zapraszamy serdecznie na zajęcia konwersacyjne ESL. 7:00-8:00 pm

February 5 – Winter Craft: Cookie Decorating – Come and decorate cookies for someone special. Adults only. Limit 20. Registration is required. 2:00-3:30 pm

February 5 – Beyblade Burst Battle – You bring in the Beyblades, we provide the arena – be ready for battle! To compete in the tournament, the Beyblades must be of the Burst style. Grades 2 & up. 4:00-5:00 pm

February 6 – Library Quilt & Sew Club – Join us for casual discussion about quilting & sewing, and showing completed projects. We embrace all quilting and sewing skills. 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

February 6 – Winter Craft: Cookie Decorating – Come and decorate cookies for someone special. Adults only. Limit 20. Registration is required. 6:00-7:30 pm

February 6 – Sewing 101: Embroidery – Learn some basic sewing skills and get started embroidering. Grades 6-12. 7:00-8:00 pm

February 7 – Now You’re Cooking! – Have fun making yummy recipes and then sampling your culinary creations. Registration is required. Due to the popularity of this program, no walk-ins will be accepted. Grades 2-6. 4:00-5:00 pm

February 8 – Morning Movers – Introduce your little ones to early literacy skills through reading, rhymes, songs and play. Ages 0-3 with caregiver. 10:00-11:00 am

February 8 – Friday Flicks – Join us each month to watch a newly released movie! This month’s movie is The Sisters Brothers (R), starring John C. Reilly and Joaquin Phoenix. Refreshments will also be available. 2:00-4:00 pm

February 8 – Acts of Kindness: Inspirational Bookmarks – Do you want to make someone’s day more special? We will be making bookmarks to place in books throughout the library that will include words of encouragement to be found by patrons of our library. Note: A station will be set up after this program so that you can still participate if you cannot make this program time. Grades 2 & up. 4:00-5:00 pm

February 8 – Tabletop Gaming Club – If you enjoy playing various board games then this is the program for you! Grab some friends and visit your library to play from a selection of classic and new tabletop games. This program is for teens and adults. 6:00-8:00 pm

February 9 – Friends of the Library Meeting – The Friends of the Franklin Park Library support the Franklin Park Library by providing volunteer services, sponsoring library events, and funding library programs. New members are always welcome. 9:30-11:00 am

February 9 – Knit & Crochet Group – New members always welcome! Join fellow crafters from every skill level. Learn tips and tricks and share projects you’re creating. 1:00-3:00 pm

February 11 – LEGO Club – If you are an experienced builder or a first timer, this is the place for you! During this drop-in program, we provide the LEGO bricks and monthly challenges while you provide the imagination. All ages. 4:00-6:00 pm

February 11 – Monday Mysteries – Come enjoy tea and cookies and talk about books on the second Monday of each month. This month, we will be discussing Devil in a Blue Dress by Walter Mosley. Copies of the book can be picked up at the Circulation Desk a month before the meeting date. 7:00-8:00 pm

February 12 – Sensory Art – Encourage your little ones to explore their senses with art projects chosen with them in mind. Ages 0-2 with caregiver.  4:00-5:00 pm

February 13 – Coding Club – Stop by to experiment with coding and computers! Grades 1-6. 4:00-5:00 pm

February 13 – Musical Munchkins – Explore the joys of music with your child. Ages 0-5 with caregiver. 5:00-6:00 pm

February 14 – Thursday Page Turners – Stop into your library and discuss popular non-fiction titles on the second Thursday afternoon of each month. This month we will be discussing The Blood of Emmett Till by Timothy Tyson. Refreshments will be provided. Copies of the book can be picked up at the Circulation Desk a month before the meeting date.  2:00-3:00 pm

February 14 – Nintendo Switch Club – Come into the library to play our Nintendo Switch. This Valentine’s Day we’ll love to hate each other playing Mario Party. Join for the fun and feel free to bring your Switch to the party. Grades 6-12. 4:00-5:00 pm

February 14 – Reel Cult Classics – Join us and watch the cult classic film from 1985, The Goonies (PG). Enjoy popcorn and refreshments. Grades 6-12. 6:00-8:00 pm

February 15 – Morning Movers – Introduce your little ones to early literacy skills through reading, rhymes, songs and play. Ages 0-3 with caregiver. 10:00-11:00 am

February 15 – Winter Book Sale – Looking for a great deal on new or gently used books, CDs, and DVDs? Come to the Friends of the Library’s winter book sale! 3:00-8:00 pm

February 16 – Craft Club: Magnet Picture Frame – Make yourself some magnet CD picture frames. Grades 6-12. 2:00-3:00 pm

February 18 – Bingocize – Have fun playing Bingo and winning prizes. We’ll also get in a little light exercise (suitable for all skill levels and abilities). 11:00 am – 12:00 pm

February 18 – Fun-Ologies – Come explore interesting topics with Fun-Ologies! In February, learn about Egyptology. Grades 3-6. 4:30-5:30 pm

February 18 – The Word Finder Championship – Challenge yourself and others to word puzzle games. Team up to make the longest word possible from nine randomly chosen letters. Win prizes! Grades 6-12. 7:00-8:00 pm

February 19 – Night Owls – Join us for a storytime with your little owlets. There will be reading, singing, and playing. It will be a HOOT! Ages 0-5 with caregiver. 5:00-6:00 pm

February 19 – One-Pot Meals – Chef Susan Maddox presents some delicious “one-pot” meals that make for great dining as well as easy clean up. Limit 45. Registration is required. 6:00-7:30 pm

February 22 – Anime Club – Draw and paint your own manga. Snack on delicious Japanese snacks and watch your favorite Anime. Grades 7-12. 6:00-7:30 pm

February 27 – Craft with Me – Stop by to create a fun craft or two with your child. Ages 3-5 with a caregiver. 4:00-5:00 pm

February 28 – Cooking with the Kiddos – Introduce your child to the joys of food with a hands on cooking program for the younger crowd. Grades PreK-1 with caregiver. 5:00-6:00 pm
