NORTHLAKE PUBLIC LIBRARY DISTRICT ANNOUNCES THE LAUNCH OF ANNUAL ‘FOOD FOR FINES’ PROGRAM

GOT FINES? Here’s your chance to wipe the slate clean, and help the community at the same time! From now until Saturday, January 4, the Northlake Public Library District (231 N. Wolf Road, Northlake, 60164) will be accepting donations of canned/boxed food items, as well as household, personal care, baby care and paper items. If you hold a Northlake Public Library District library card, for each item you donate, we will waive $1 of your library fines! Items must not be expired, open, dented or used, and charges for lost/damaged materials (or collection agency fees) are ineligible. Other restrictions may apply – please contact the library for details.

Even if you don’t have fines, but still want to donate, the library will still gladly accept your donations! The Northlake Public Library District has offered this program since 2008, and has collected thousands of pounds of food each year, benefitting local organizations. Past recipients of donations include Leyden Family Services, The Greater Chicago Food Depository and ‘Food for Life’, the food pantry operated via Resurrection Lutheran Church (Franklin Park)
