Franklin Park Public Library’s 5th Annual Holiday Open House

| November 14, 2016

Join us for our annual holiday extravaganza on Saturday, December 10 @ 1:00-4:00pm.

This will be an afternoon of fun for all ages! Join a mini-session of our Knit & Crochet Group, Adult Coloring Club, or Library Quilt & Sew Club. Do you know a teen that’s into anime or manga? Tell him or her to come to our Anime Club mini-session. Have little ones looking for something fun to do? Visit Kids Crossing for a mini-storytime or other activities. We will be highlighting all that the Library has to offer the community today.

It’s also a great time to find out what your Franklin Park Library card offers. Did you know you can stream movies, music, and TV shows? What about downloading eBooks and audiobooks? Librarians will be on hand to tell you all about hoopla, eRead Illinois, eMediaLibrary, and Zinio, along with many other resources available in our Digital Library. Make sure to bring your favorite device (smartphone, eReader, or tablet) and your valid Franklin Park Library card. Don’t have your library card yet? Today is the perfect day to register!

You can also learn about our valuable databases today. Want to learn a new language? Try Transparent Language Online! Interested in learning something new? Take a free online course from Universal Class! Want to begin researching your family history? Use Ancestry to access records online! Need to brush up on your reading, writing, math, or job search skills? Try Learning Express Library! Students and information-seekers of all ages will find something new to learn.

If that’s not enough, we will have live holiday music in our snack area. The Friends of the Library will also be holding a book sale during the event. Interested in finding out more about the Friends group? Today is the perfect opportunity! Make sure to stop by our “Selfie Booth” and pose for pictures with your friends and family. We want to see your pictures, too, so don’t forget to share them with us on our Facebook page at facebook.com/askfppl.

This year promises to be another fun and festive event for all. Won’t you join us?
