FOR THE NEWCOMER; If you are new to Networking and/or the job search, join us at St. Hubert, 6:00pm, prior to our regular meetings (on the second and fourth Monday of each month). We’ll offer a one hour program on how to use a networking meeting effectively, the tools you’ll need such as; The Elevator Speech; How to do a Handbill, and how to generate the contacts you need.

June 7, 2014 – “Moving From College to Employment” – 9:00 am to 12 Noon -Schaumburg Community Church, 927 N. Plum Grove Rd. (Enter at Woodfield Court – Sonesta Hotel), Schaumburg, IL. Our presenter is Bob Placko, former V.P. of HR with Motorola, Inc. and instructor at Carthage College. Bob will present his dynamic program created specifically for the College Graduate, Community College Graduate and current college student on how to effectively break into the job market. June 9, 2014 – “High Performance Interviewing” – 7:00pm to 9:15pm – St. Hubert Ministry Center, 729 Grand Canyon, Hoffman Estates, IL. Author, Jim Starkey will present from his book by the same title, to help us greatly improve our interviewing skills and compelling achievement focused story-telling capabilities.

June 14, 2014 – “Networking With Social Media” – 9:00am to 12 Noon – St. Marcelline’s Church, 820 S. Springinsguth, Schaumburg, IL. As Social Media takes hold in every facet of job search, Networking using Social Media becomes more important to our job search success. Our presenter is Tom Cunningham, Career Coach and key note speaker, who will share how to use this new communications medium to improve your job campaign.

June 23, 2014 – “Things To Try When Its Not Working” – 7:00pm to 9:15pm – St. Hubert Ministry Center, 729 Grand Canyon, Hoffman Estates, IL. Our presenter is Bob Podgorski, Ministry Coordinator, who will share with us some techniques, methods and initiatives that have kick started a stalled job campaign for some of our members.

July 14, 2014 – “Dealing Effectively with a Search Firm or Employment Agency” – 7:00pm to 9:00pm St. Hubert Ministry Center, 729 Grand Canyon, Hoffman Estates, IL. Our friend and executive Search professional Matt Kerr will bring us an insider’s look at how to work with a Search Firm or Employment Agency. Many of the jobs are through third party firms. Understanding how to connect and build rapport is essential to getting to that next step.

Energy comes in many forms throughout the process of finding and securing work. Learn to channel your energy and boost it to get results.

July 28, 2014 – “Unleashing Your Candidate Power” – 7:00pm to 9:15pm – St. Hubert Ministry Center, 729 Grand Canyon, Hoffman Estates, IL. Often, candidates for employment believe that the hiring process is all one sided. Actually, a candidate has a great deal of influence on the hiring process if they understand it and unleash their candidate power. This presentation will be given by our Job Ministry coordinator, Bob Podgorski.

August 9, 2014 – “Consulting as a Career Option” – 9:00am to 12:00 noon – St. Matthew’s Church, 1001 E. Schaumburg Road, Schaumburg, IL. A number of people in job search have been considering consulting as an alternative to returning to full-time employment. This entrepreneurial move takes a lot of consideration and knowledge about starting and running a business. This seminar will give you the fundamentals from marketing to pricing and profitability. Presented by Bob Podgorski, Principle, R.P.P. Enterprises.

August 11, 2014-  “Organize With An Empty Desk” – 7:00pm to 9:15pm – St. Hubert Ministry Center, 729 Grand Canyon, Hoffman Estates, IL. One of the most difficult tasks in any job search is staying organized and keeping track of all those leads, job posts, resumes sent and meeting conducted. Our presenter is Bob Sherman, a past member of the St. Hubert Job Ministry. Bob will share his unique way to stay organized with an empty desk concept that is sure to trigger some new thinking about how to organize your job search.

August 25, 2014 – “Casual Networking Evening” – 7:00pm to 9:00pm – St. Hubert Ministry Center, 729 Grand Canyon, Hoffman Estates, IL.  Our successful casual networking evening last February was so well received that we are doing it again to help you make new contacts and ask questions of our roaming Gurus. Join us for refreshments and connections – bring a friend.

September 8, 2014 – “What They Want Are Those Soft Skills”7:00pm to 9:00pm – St. Hubert Ministry Center, 729 Grand Canyon, Hoffman Estates, IL. We often hear about skills and those soft skills. Learn what they are and how best to convey that you have those elusive yet valued soft skills as our presenter Bob Podgorski takes us on an excursion through soft skills land.
