Franklin Park Public Library District

We are located at 10311 Grand Avenue in Franklin Park, IL and offer a range of services and programs for children, teens, and adults.  Further information is available at www.fppld.org or by calling 847-455-6016.

Unless otherwise noted, registration is required for ALL library programs.

January 3 – Conversation Circle – Drop-in to practice speaking English in an informal setting. 2:00-3:00pm

January 4 – Library Quilt & Sew Club – Join us for casual discussion about quilting & sewing, and showing completed projects. We embrace all quilting and sewing skills. 10:00am-12:00pm

January 4 – Coding Club – Are you good at solving puzzles? Join us to experiment with coding and uncover all the wonderful things you can do with computers! Limit 10. Grades 3-5. 4:00-5:00pm

January 6 – Morning Movers Storytime – Develop your child’s early literacy skills through songs, rhymes, reading, and play. Limit 20. Ages 0-3 with caregiver. 10:00-11:00am

January 6 – Friday Flicks – Join us each month to watch a newly released movie! This month’s movie is Florence Foster Jenkins (PG-13). Refreshments will also be available. 2:00-4:00pm

January 6 – Friday Family Flicks – Join us each month for a family-friendly movie! This month’s movie is The Secret Life of Pets (PG). Refreshments will also be available. 6:00-7:30pm

January 7 – Arts & Snacks – Drop in for some art! Create a masterpiece at your library. We will have all sorts of art supplies available and a bunch of snacks to keep you going. This program is for teens & adults. 1:00-4:00pm

January 9 – Study Hall – Need a place to do your schoolwork? Is there a project due that you need to work on? Come in for Library Study Hall. Spread out in our meeting room and put distractions aside! Grades 7-12. 3:00-8:00pm

January 10 – Conversation Circle – Drop-in to practice speaking English in an informal setting. 2:00-3:00pm

January 12 – Parker’s Storytime – Explore the alphabet with books, songs, and rhymes in this fun storytime. Limit 20. Ages 3-5 with caregiver. 4:00-5:00pm

January 12 – Full STEAM Ahead – Join us as we travel full STEAM ahead into science, technology, engineering, art, and math! Limit 30. Grades 1-3. 4:00-5:00pm

January 13 – Tabletop Gaming Club – If you enjoy playing various board games then this is the program for you! Grab some friends and visit your library to play from a selection of classic and new tabletop games. This program is for teens & adults. 6:00-8:00pm

January 14 – Friends of the Library Meeting – The Friends of the Franklin Park Library support the Franklin Park Library by providing volunteer services, sponsoring library events, and funding library programs. New members are always welcome. 9:30-11:00am

January 16 – Study Hall – Need a place to do your schoolwork? Is there a project due that you need to work on? Come in for Library Study Hall. Spread out in our meeting room and put distractions aside! Grades 7-12. 3:00-8:00pm

January 16 – Lego Club – Whether you are a great builder or a first timer, this is the place for you. We provide the Legos, you provide the imagination. Limit 30. All Ages. 5:00-6:30pm

January 17 – Morning Storytime – Join us twice a month for a themed storytime filled with fun songs, stories, and a craft! Limit 15. Ages 3-5 years old with caregiver. 10:00-10:45am

January 17 – Tuesday Classics – Join us on the third Tuesday of each month to watch a classic movie! This month’s film is Easy Rider (R). Refreshments will also be available. 10:30am-12:30pm

January 18 – Kids Graphic Novel Club – We will meet once a month to discuss exciting titles and enjoy some snacks. This month, we’re discussing Ghosts by Raina Telgemeier. Copies of the books will be available at the Circulation Desk about a month prior to the meeting date. Limit 20. Grades 3-5. 4:00-4:45pm

January 18 – My World Wednesday – Discover new languages, cultures, and traditions with stories, songs and rhymes from around the world. Each month will be a new and interactive storytime. Limit 30. All ages. 4:00-5:00pm

January 23 – Study Hall – Need a place to do your schoolwork? Is there a project due that you need to work on? Come in for Library Study Hall. Spread out in our meeting room and put distractions aside! Grades 7-12. 3:00-8:00pm

January 24 – Conversation Circle – Drop-in to practice speaking English in an informal setting. 2:00-3:00pm

January 25 – Scrapbooking Club – Bring your photos, unfinished scrapbooks, and any material you’d like to trade with others. For teens and adults. 6:00-8:00pm

January 26 – Parker’s Storytime – Explore the alphabet with books, songs, and rhymes in this fun storytime. Limit 20. Ages 3-5 with caregiver. 4:00-5:00pm

January 31 – The Scrap Exchange – Stop by the Library on the last day of each month and get a second chance at creativity using our leftover crafts. It’s also a great time to bring in any crafting supplies you are no longer using at home. All ages. 6:00-8:00pm
