Unless otherwise noted, registration is required for ALL library programs.

June 1 – Morning Movers Storytime – Your baby is always learning and we offer a great environment to explore and grow. Move around with our songs and rhymes, share a book or two and introduce your little one to the world. We can’t wait to see you! Ages 0-3 with adult. 10:00-11:00 am

June 1 – Tabletop Gaming Club – If you enjoy playing various board games then this is the program for you! Grab some friends and visit your library to play from a selection of classic and new tabletop games. This program is for teens and adults. 6:00-8:30 pm

June 2 – Arts & Snacks – Drop in for some art! Create a masterpiece at your library. We will have all sorts of art supplies available and a bunch of snacks to keep you going. This program is for teens and adults. 1:00-4:00 pm

June 5 – Summer Craft: Wind Chime – Create something beautiful for summer when you make your own wind chime. Adults only. Limit 30. 2:00-3:00 pm

June 6 – Library Quilt & Sew Club – Join us for casual discussion about quilting & sewing, and showing completed projects. We embrace all quilting and sewing skills. 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

June 7 – DIY Bots: Wobble Bots – Try your hand at making simple robots! Grades 3 & up. 2:00-2:30 pm OR 5:00-5:30 pm

June 8 – Friday Flicks – Join us each month to watch a newly released movie! This month’s movie is The Shape of Water (Rated R). Refreshments will also be available. 2:00-4:00 pm

June 8 – Mad Science Fire and Ice Show – Witness foggy dry ice storms, bubbly potions, and flashy reactions that go poof! Tickets are required. Pick up tickets beginning on June 1st at the Kid’s Crossing Desk. Grades K-6. 6:00-7:00 pm

June 9 – Friends of the Library Meeting – The Friends of the Franklin Park Library support the Franklin Park Library by providing volunteer services, sponsoring library events, and funding library programs. New members are always welcome. 9:30-11:00 am

June 9 – Knit & Crochet Group – New members always welcome! Join fellow crafters from every skill level. Learn tips and tricks and share projects you’re creating. 1:00-3:00 pm

June 11 – LEGO Club – If you are an experienced builder or a first timer, this is the place for you! During this drop-in program, we provide the LEGO bricks and monthly challenges while you provide the imagination. All ages. 4:00-6:00 pm

June 13 – STEM Explorers – Test your creativity & teamwork as we take on STEM challenges! Grades 1-6. 4:00-5:00 pm

June 14 – Father’s Day Craft – Decorate a puzzle that will remind dad how much he means to you every time he puts it together! 5:00-6:00 pm

June 15 – Minecraft Meet-Up – Hang out with fellow Minecrafters and participate in some offline activities! Please note: This program is unplugged, meaning that we will not be providing Minecraft on our devices, but you are welcome to bring your own device to show off your creations, with parental permission. Grades K and up. 4:30-5:30 pm

June 16 – Shrinky Dinks – Embrace the ‘80s by creating pins or necklaces with Shrinky Dinks. Create a design and then shrink it down to size. Grades 7-12. 2:00-3:00 pm

June 20 – Life-Size Chutes & Ladders – Come play Chutes & Ladders on a larger scale. Come to any (or all 3!) of our one hour-sessions. 11:00 am – 12:00 pm OR 2:00-3:00 pm OR 6:00-7:00 pm

June 21 – We’re Gonna Party Like It’s 1818! – Celebrate the Bicentennial of the state of Illinois when historian and performer Ellie Carlson takes us to a party in 1818. Sample the food, have your silhouette made, dance the dances and hear the music that might have played as all 32,000 of us celebrated statehood. All ages. Limit 50. 6:00-7:00 pm

June 22 – Scoop On Apps – Have you heard about our online collection, but haven’t given it a shot?  Stop by for demos by our staff and leave with ice cream! Geared towards parents and children in grades 3 & up. 5:00-6:00 pm

June 23 – Bad Art Gallery – Recreate some famous paintings, and then ruin them. Come create the worst art possible, and then we’ll display it in our gallery to determine the best (or worst) artist! Grades 7-12. 2:00-3:30 pm

June 25 – You Pick Flicks – We let you pick the movie that YOU want to watch. Vote for your favorite, sit back, and enjoy! All ages. 1:00-3:00 pm

June 27 – STEM Explorers – Test your creativity & teamwork as we take on STEM challenges! Grades 1-6. 4:00-5:00 pm

June 27 – Friends of the Library Fundraiser – Enjoy delicious food and help the Friends! Visit Portillo’s of Northlake and mention you’re there for the Friends of the Franklin Park Library when you order. The Friends will receive 20% of the proceeds. Note: Please make sure to check that your receipt is marked “FUNDRAISER” to ensure that your meal is attributed to the Friends. 5:00-8:00 pm

June 28 – Tastes from Around the World – Enjoy stories, activities, and samples of food from around the world. Grades 1 & up. 4:00-5:00 pm

June 28 – Random Fandom Trivia – Are you a fandom trivia master? Join us for random trivia from all the fandoms. Bring your friends and compete with (or against) them. This program is for teens and adults. 6:00-7:00 pm

June 29 – Anime Club – Come join us at Anime Club! Draw and paint your own manga. Snack on delicious Japanese snacks and watch your favorite Anime. Grades 7-12. 6:00-7:30 pm

June 30 – Video Gaming Event – Do you love playing video games? Come by for open gaming with the Chicago Gaming League. Play games and learn about careers in gaming and technology. Ages 8 & up. 2:00-4:00 pm
