June 1 – Library Quilt & Sew Club – Join us for casual discussion about quilting and sewing, and showing completed projects. We embrace all quilting and sewing skills. 10:00am-12:00pm

June 3 – Friday Flicks – Join us each month to watch a newly released movie! This month’s movie is The Revenant (R). Refreshments will also be available. 2:00-4:45pm

June 4 – Summer Reading Kick-Off Party – Sign up for the Summer Reading Program and learn about all the fun you can have when you “Exercise Your Mind: READ!” and “Get in the Game: READ!” with the library this summer! Entertainment will also be provided by the Magic of Gary Kantor and a balloon artist from Landini Entertainment to make your wait in line more enjoyable. 1:00-4:00pm

June 6 – Family Zumba® – Find your rhythm with our Family Zumba class. All participants must have signed parental/guardian permission. This class is open to kids in 3rd grade and up and their adult caregivers. Limit 20. 4:00-5:00pm

June 7 – Storytime with a Hero – Who is your hero? Enjoy a different storytime each week led by a heroic member of our community. Registration is required. All ages. Limit 60.  10:00-11:00am

June 7 – Tween Tuesdays – How fast can you pick up marshmallows with a chopstick? Join us each Tuesday for wacky and challenging minute to win it style games! Will you be the winner? Grades 4-6. Limit 30.  2:00-3:00pm

June 7 – Recycled Craft Night – Join us for fun crafts you can make with items you probably already own! Bring a clean glass jar this month and make a patriotic splatter jar. Limit 20. 6:00-7:00pm

June 8 – The Chicago Bears Present: First & Goal! – Learn how to score a touchdown for a healthy life and meet the official mascot of the Chicago Bears, Staley da Bear! Tickets are required to enter. Registration for this program starts on 6/4 at 1pm. All ages. Limit 60. 2:00-3:00pm

June 9 – Parker’s Storytime – Join us as we explore the alphabet with books, songs, and rhymes in this fun storytime. Ages 3-5 with caregiver. Limit 20. 2:00-3:00pm

June 9 – STEAM Team – Join us as we travel full STEAM ahead into fitness. Play fun games that support team building and creative problem solving. Don’t forget to bring a water bottle! Grades 1-3. Limit 30. 2:00-3:00pm

June 9 – Trading Card Club – It’s card game night. Bring in your trading cards such as Magic the Gathering, Yu-gi-oh, Pokemon TCG, and more. Get ready for a fun filled night! Grades 7-12. Limit 20. 6:00-7:00pm

June 10 – Morning Movers – Develop your child’s early literacy skills through songs, rhymes, reading, and play. Ages 0-3 with caregiver. Limit 20. 10:00-11:00am

June 10 – Summer Family Flicks – Join us for some fun, family-friendly movies this summer! This month, we’ll watch The Sandlot (PG). Refreshments will also be available. 2:00-3:45pm

June 10 – Origami & Papercraft – Enjoy a relaxing night of paper crafting at your library. Have the freedom to craft to your heart’s content. For teens and adults. 6:00-7:00pm

June 11 – Knit & Crochet Group – Join fellow crafters from every skill level. Learn tips and tricks and share projects you’re creating. 1:00-3:00pm

June 14 – Friends of the Franklin Park Library Fundraiser – Enjoy delicious food and help the Friends of the Library! Visit Bakers Square (1319 W North Avenue, Melrose Park) today between 5pm and 8pm and 20% of your purchase will be donated to the Friends. 5:00-8:00pm

June 14 – Library Board Meeting – Board meetings are open to the public. Meetings are typically held on the second Tuesday of each month. 7:30-8:30pm

June 15 – Shameless Reads Book Club – We read romance and we are unashamed! Care to join in on the fun? This month, we will be discussing Romancing the Duke by Tessa Dare. Pick up your copy of the book at the Circulation Desk starting a month before the discussion date. Adults only. 6:00-7:00pm

June 16 – Parker’s Storytime – Join us as we explore the alphabet with books, songs, and rhymes in this fun storytime. Ages 3-5 with caregiver. Limit 20. 2:00-3:00pm

June 24 – Anime Club – Draw and paint your own manga. Snack on delicious Japanese snacks. Watch your favorite Anime. 6:00-7:30pm

June 25 – Arts & Snacks – Drop in for some art! Create a masterpiece at your library. We will have all sorts of art supplies available and a bunch of snacks to keep you going. For teens and adults. 1:00-4:00pm
