June 2 – Saving Energy At Home – Did you know that the average Illinois household spends over $2000 annually on natural gas and electricity? Join Megan Visk from Elevate Energy to learn more about ways to save energy and money in your home. 7:00-8:00pm

June 3 – Tween Scene – All month long we will be experimenting, being a little more “Green,” and having fun with food! Ages 9 – 13-years-old. 6:00-7:00pm

June 4 – Friendship Quilting Club – Join us for crafting and camaraderie. Whether you are a newcomer or a long-time enthusiast, you are invited to learn new techniques, talk about fabrics and share patterns. 10:00am-12:00pm

June 4 – Summer Reading Movie Day – Join us for science-themed movies! Today, we’ll watch WALL-E (G). Snacks will also be available. All Ages. 2:00-3:30pm

June 5 – Little Eagles Storytime – Preschool and kindergarten students and their caregivers are invited to this special storytime led by Leyden High School students and the Library’s Teen Advisory Board. Ages 3 – 5-years-old. 2:00-3:00pm OR 6:00-7:00pm

June 5 – Science Club – Calling all scientists! Join us for wacky explosions and a trip to Mars. Harvest lighting and make your own lava lamp. There is all this and much more happening all summer in Science Club! Ages 6 – 8-years-old. 2:00-3:00pm

June 6 – Morning Movers Storytime – Let’s sing, play, and read in this storytime for babies and toddlers. 0-3 years-old w/ adult caregiver. 10:00-11:00am

June 6 – JG’s Reptile Road Show – Jim Galeno returns to the Library with his exciting, educational, and interactive reptile show. Registration is required. Visit the Kids Crossing Desk to receive tickets for this event. 3:00-4:00pm OR 6:00-7:00pm

June 6 – Movie Meet-Up: The Fault in Our Stars – Meet us at Muvico Rosemont to watch the film adaptation of the beloved book. Registration is required. A parent must sign a permission form if you are under 18. Please Note: The movie show time will be decided upon on the DAY OF the movie meet-up. Make sure we have your correct contact information when you register so we can let you know what time to meet us at the theater! Time TBD

June 14 – Friends of the Library Meeting – The Friends of the Franklin Park Library support the Franklin Park Library through volunteerism, fundraising activities and sponsorship of programs and activities. New members are always welcome. 9:30-10:30am

June 14 – Knit & Crochet Group – Celebrate “World Wide Knit in Public Day” with us! All are welcome. Weather permitting, we may meet outside. 1:00-3:00pm

June 16 – T-Rexplorers – Do you love dinosaurs? Join us for this hands-on experience featuring authentic dinosaur fossils! Registration is required. Visit the Kids Crossing Desk to receive tickets for this event. 3:00-4:00pm OR 6:00-7:00pm

June 30 – Olivia aka Ollie by Larry Nestor – Meet local author Larry Nestor! He will share his latest book, based on a true story of bullying. 3:00-4:00pm
