EXCEPTIONAL EAGLE BREAKFAST AT EAST LEYDEN

The following East Leyden High School students were honored at the EXCEPTIONAL EAGLE BREAKFAST on Thursday, March 14, 2013, at 7:00 a.m. at the school.  The monthly breakfast is held to recognize students for their extraordinary effort, special achievements, and academic excellence.  Parents and nominating teachers also are invited to attend.

The students and the departments they represent are:  Sylvia Hernandez, Art; Kristina Ivanova, Bilingual/ESL; Stephanie Gramajo, Business Education; Jeremy Mercado, English; Weronika Zaleska, Family and Consumer Sciences; Iziah Gonzalez, Individual Achievement; Trevor Dienethal, Industrial Technology; Kaiber Monarrez, Literacy; Dominick Miro, Mathematics; Areli Munoz, Modern Languages; Joshua Stocks, Music; Konrad Dziedzic, Physical Education;  Michael Cholko, Science; Trevor Dienethal, Science; Lee Stephens, Science; Diana Csercse, Social Studies; Alma Domazet, Student Aide; and Alex Garza, Student Aide.

STUDENT OF THE MONTH BREAKFAST AT WEST LEYDEN

The following West Leyden High School students were honored at the Student of the Month Breakfast held on Thursday, March 7, 2013, in the Eagle’s Wing at the school.  The monthly breakfast is held to recognize students for their extraordinary effort, special achievements, and academic excellence.  Parents and nominating teachers also are invited to attend.

The students and the departments they represent are:  Janaida Hernandez, Art; Jesus Salinas, BRIDGE/LIFE; Nick Fredrickson, Business Education; Adrianna Jelen, District Excellence-Principal’s Award; Gilda Garcia, English; Abundio Soriano, Family and Consumer Sciences; Miguel Girard, Guided Study; Jesus Loera, Industrial Technology; Roberto Gutierrez, Literacy; Theresa Rosas, Mathematics; Alex Chaidez, Modern Languages; Jesse Wenzel, Music; Nick Fredrickson, Personal Achievement; Erika Pimentel, Physical Education; Nancy Delatorre, Science; Melissa Dobry, Social Studies; and Jesus Gonzalez, TAPESTRY.

DISTRICT 212 AND FRANKLIN PARK LIBRARY SPONSOR “ONCE UPON A PROM”

District 212 Fashion Club members from both the East and West campuses, along with the Franklin Park Public Library, are co-sponsoring Once Upon a Prom, an annual event that gives local high school girls the chance to borrow a dress for prom.

Those in need of a prom dress will have the opportunity to select the dress of their choice from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Friday, April 5th at the Franklin Park Library, 10311 Grand Ave., Franklin Park.  This event is open to all high school girls with a current school ID.

Community members are invited to donate gently used prom dresses that are no more than 15 years old.   Donations may be brought to either Leyden campus as well as the library. East Leyden is located at 3400 N. Rose St., Franklin Park; and West Leyden is located at 1000 N. Wolf Rd., Northlake.
