MUSICAL FOOTLOOSE  DEBUTS AT LEYDEN

It is pure rock ‘n’ roll this March when Leyden High School District 212 Theater Department presents Footloose at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 8 and 15, and Saturday, March 9 and 16, in the auditorium at West Leyden High School, 1000 N. Wolf Rd, Northlake.

In this lively musical, big-city teenager Ren moves to an ultra-conservative Midwestern town where dance is forbidden.  He breaks every taboo – including falling in love with Ariel, the preacher’s daughter – and rallies his classmates to defy the town fathers and hold a rock ‘n’ roll prom.

Based on the 1984 movie that launched actor Kevin Bacon’s career, Footloose explodes on the stage with classic 80s tunes such as “Let’s Hear it for the Boys,” and of course, “Footloose.”

The cast, crew and production staff is composed of students from both campuses.  You don’t want to miss this musical. These spirited students are ready to rock ‘n’ roll.

Admission is $3 for students and $5 for adults.  For more information, please visit www.leyden212.org/finearts.
