Library Asks Patrons to Beta Test New Catalog

| June 15, 2013

The Franklin Park Public Library will be unveiling the beta version of its newest online catalog, Enterprise, to the public at the end of June.  This highly interactive catalog features enriched content that improves the relevancy of search results and we hope will enhance the search experience.

Enterprise features a choice of front page slide shows which includes a display of current New York Times Best Sellers and/ or new additions to our collection.  It also has an improved “quick list” that displays lists of brand new materials  by item type (New DVDs, etc.) in what we hope will be a much more user-friendly way.   With one click you can place a hold, email, text, or print the information for any and every item you have selected in your search results.  Refining search results to specific types of materials, intended audience, language, publication date, etc will also be easier than it is in our current catalog.

So try the new catalog for yourself and let us know what you think. You are invited to run some your trickiest searches and let us know what worked and what did not. You can get access to Enterprise in person at the Library or remotely from your own device, and Library staff is always on hand to help guide you through the process.  Visit www.fppld.org for more information.
