Library Celebrates International Games Day

| October 31, 2012

Libraries today are more than just books.  Franklin Parkers rely on the library to borrow  movies and music. The Library provides free Wi-fi internet service, access  to  databases for research, test prep, self -improvement, and so much more!  A recent, and important,  development , libraries are becoming  gathering spaces for the community, comfortable and safe environments where friends come to meet, parents bring their children to read or study, and strangers can even make connections with others and part ways as friends.

With that in mind, we invite everyone to participate in International Games Day @ your library this year.  On Saturday, November 3, the library will be transformed into a gaming center, with games of all types for people of all ages to play.  Want to come and play a quick game of chess or checkers, or a long game of Risk?  We’ve got it!  Like playing games online?  We’ve got those, too.  We’ll have every kind of game available, from board and card games and puzzles to computer and Wii games.  Players of all ages can come to the library and compete with others who enjoy the same games they do.  And, who knows?  Maybe they’ll find a new game to love and a few new friends to play them with.
