Unless otherwise noted, registration is required for ALL library programs.

May 1 – Día Storytime – Help us celebrate Día del Niño with a storytime and a craft! All Ages. 6:00-7:00 pm

May 2 – Library Quilt & Sew Club – Join us for casual discussion about quilting & sewing, and showing completed projects. We embrace all quilting and sewing skills. 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

May 3 – Scrapbooking Club – Get those old pictures organized! Learn new techniques and share ideas. Please bring your own photos, unfinished scrapbooks, and any materials you’d like to trade with others. This program is for teens and adults. 6:00-8:00 pm

May 4 – Morning Movers Storytime – Your baby is always learning and we offer a great environment to explore and grow. Move around with our songs and rhymes, share a book or two and introduce your little one to the world. We can’t wait to see you! Ages 0-3 with adult. 10:00-11:00 am

May 4 – Tabletop Gaming Club – If you enjoy playing various board games then this is the program for you! Grab some friends and visit your library to play from a selection of classic and new tabletop games. This program is for teens and adults. 6:00-8:30 pm

May 5 – Arts & Snacks – Drop in for some art! Create a masterpiece at your library. We will have all sorts of art supplies available and a bunch of snacks to keep you going. This program is for teens and adults. 1:00-4:00 pm

May 8 – Spring Craft: Flower Planter – Celebrate spring by creating your own flower planter. Adults only. Limit 25 per session. 2:00-3:00 pm

May 9 – Spring Craft: Flower Planter – Celebrate spring by creating your own flower planter. Adults only. Limit 25 per session. 11:00 am – 12:00 pm OR 6:00-7:00 pm

May 10 – Mother’s Day Craft – Time to show mom how much you care! We’ll have tote bags and paint for the ultimate personalized gift. 5:00-6:00 pm

May 11 – Friday Flicks – Join us each month to watch a newly released movie! This month’s movie is Darkest Hour (PG-13). Refreshments will also be available. 2:00-4:00 pm

May 11 – Friday Family Flicks – Join us each month for a family-friendly movie! This month’s movie is Toy Story (G). Refreshments will also be available. 6:00-7:30 pm

May 12 – Friends of the Library Meeting – The Friends of the Franklin Park Library support the Franklin Park Library by providing volunteer services, sponsoring library events, and funding library programs. New members are always welcome. 9:30-11:00 am

May 12 – Knit & Crochet Group – New members always welcome! Join fellow crafters from every skill level. Learn tips and tricks and share projects you’re creating. 1:00-3:00 pm

May 12 – DIY Smash Books – Journaling meets scrapbooking in Smash Books! Smash Books are the easy way to capture all of life’s memories. Join us as we introduce you to the world of Smash Books and create your own. Grades 7-12. 2:00-3:00 pm

May 14 – LEGO Club – If you are an experienced builder or a first timer, this is the place for you! During this drop-in program, we provide the LEGO bricks and monthly challenges while you provide the imagination. All ages. 4:00-6:00 pm

May 16 – Library Quilt & Sew Club – Join us for casual discussion about quilting & sewing, and showing completed projects. We embrace all quilting and sewing skills. 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

May 16 – Disassembly Required – Help us take apart old toys and technology! Grades 1-6. 4:00-5:00 pm

May 18 – Minecraft Meet-Up – Hang out with fellow Minecrafters and participate in some offline activities! Please note: This program is unplugged, meaning that we will not be providing Minecraft on our devices, but you are welcome to bring your own device to show off your creations, with parental permission. Grades K and up. 4:30-5:30 pm

May 18 – Spring Book Sale – Looking for a great deal on new or gently used books, CDs, DVDs, and videos? Come to the Friends of the Library’s spring book sale! 5:00-8:00 pm

May 19 – Spring Book Sale – Looking for a great deal on new or gently used books, CDs, DVDs, and videos? Come to the Friends of the Library’s spring book sale! 10:00 am – 2:00 pm

May 25 – Backyard Family Game Night – We’re taking the fun outside the library to celebrate National Backyard Games Week! Join us on the library’s lawn for a variety of outdoor activities for the whole family. All ages. 5:00-6:00 pm

May 25 – Anime Club – Come join us at Anime Club! Draw and paint your own manga. Snack on delicious Japanese snacks and watch your favorite Anime. Grades 7-12. 6:00-7:30 pm

May 26 – TAB Meeting – The Teen Advisory Board is a place share ideas about activities, materials, and changes to implement to make the Library a destination for teens. Members please join us for our quarterly meeting. Lunch will be provided. Grades 7-12. 1:00-2:00 pm

May 26 – Video Gaming Event – Do you love playing video games? Come by for open gaming with the Chicago Gaming League. Play games and learn about careers in gaming and technology. Ages 8 – adult. 2:00-4:00 pm
