May 4 – Library Quilt & Sew Club – Join us for casual discussion about quilting and sewing, and showing completed projects. We embrace all quilting and sewing skills. 10:00am-12:00pm

May 6 – Mommy & Me Drop-In Craft – Celebrate Mother’s Day by making a special craft for your mommy! 9:00am-8:00pm

May 6 – Friends of the Library Spring Book Sale – Looking for a great deal on new or gently used books, CDs, DVDs, and videos? Come to the Friends of the Library’s Spring Book Sale! The Friends are offering a new special deal: buy one of their reusable bags for $3 and fill it with as much as you want. Then, bring it back to future sales and fill it again for $3. 6:00-8:00pm

May 7 – Arts & Snacks – Drop in for some art! Create a masterpiece at your library. We will have all sorts of art supplies available and a bunch of snacks to keep you going. For teens and adults. 1:00-4:00pm

May 9 – Monday Night Book Club – We will discuss Sleeping at the Starlite Motel and Other Adventures on the Way Back Home by Bailey White. 7:00-8:00pm

May 10 – Library Board Meeting – Board meetings are open to the public. Meetings are typically held on the second Tuesday of each month. 7:30-8:30pm

May 13 – Friday Flicks – Join us each month to watch a newly released movie! This month’s movie is The Big Short (R). Refreshments will also be available. 2:00-4:15pm

May 13 – Friday Family Flicks – Join us each month for a family-friendly movie! This month’s movie is Star Wars, Episode VII: The Force Awakens (PG-13). Refreshments will also be available. 6:00-8:15pm

May 14 – Friends of the Library Meeting – The Friends of the Franklin Park Library support the Franklin Park Library by providing volunteer services, sponsoring library events, and funding library programs. New members are always welcome. 9:30-11:00am

May 14 – Knit & Crochet Group – Join fellow crafters from every skill level. Learn tips and tricks and share projects you’re creating. 1:00-3:00pm

May 16 – Adult Coloring Club – Coloring isn’t just for kids anymore! Join us for a stress-relieving evening of coloring! Coloring pages and colored pencils will be provided for use, but feel free to bring in your own art supplies, too. 6:00-8:00pm

May 17 – Friends of the Franklin Park Library Fundraiser – Enjoy delicious food and help the Friends of the Library! Visit Russell’s Barbecue (1621 Thatcher Avenue, Elmwood Park) today between 4pm and 8pm and 10% of your purchase will be donated to the Friends. 4:00-8:00pm

May 18 – Shameless Reads Book Club – We read romance and we are unashamed! Care to join in on the fun? This month, we will be discussing Animal Attraction by Jill Shalvis. Pick up your copy of the book at the Circulation Desk starting a month before the discussion date. Adults only. 6:00-7:00pm

May 20-May 22 – Anime Club Meet-Up! – Meet up with us at ACEN! Stop by our booth anytime all weekend long for a chance to win prizes. More information will be announced on our website, fppld.org.

May 20 – Trading Card Club – It’s card game night. Bring in your trading cards such as Magic the Gathering, Yu-gi-oh, Pokemon TCG, and more. Get ready for a fun filled night! Grades 7-12. Limit 20. 6:00-7:00pm

May 25 – Scrapbooking Club – Bring your photos, unfinished scrapbooks, and any material you’d like to trade with others. For teens and adults. 6:00-8:00pm

May 27 – Origami & Papercraft – Enjoy a relaxing night of paper crafting at your library. Have the freedom to craft to your heart’s content. For teens and adults. 6:00-7:00pm
