October 3 – Tea Tasting & Autumn Delights – Enjoy a flavorful tea selection paired with autumn treats. 6:00-7:00pm

October 4 – Morning Bookworms – Start your weekend off right with a fun storytime and craft. Ages 3-5-years-old with caregiver. 11:00am-12:00pm

October 6 – Writing Workshop – Do you love to read and write? Are you excited at the possibility to share your writing with others? Come explore your inner creative voice! 6:00-7:00pm

October 6 – The Essential Houdini – Join magician and storyteller William Pack as he brings the story of this American icon to life! Copies of his book will also be for sale. 7:00-8:00pm

October 7 – The College Application – Want to maximize your chances of getting into your first choice school? The Illinois Student Assistance Commission will offer tips on filling out college applications. We’ll even go over how to survive writing the dreaded admissions essay. Parents and adults are also welcome to attend. 7:00-8:00pm

October 8 – Lego Club – Lego enthusiasts are invited to meet and work individually or as a group. We supply all the materials, all you need to bring is imagination and creativity! Registration & adult supervision required. Limit 60 people. All Ages. 6:00-8:00pm

October 9 – Dewey Discovery – Have you ever wanted to break a record or become a secret agent?  Do you like to create?  Join us as we explore the nonfiction section of the Library! Ages 6-8-years-old. 6:00-7:00pm

October 9 – Little Eagles Storytime – Read with us! We’ll share stories, learn new songs and dances, and make something fun to take home. Ages 3-5-years old. 6:00-7:00pm

October 10 – Friday Flicks – Join us on Fridays each month to watch a newly released movie! This month’s movie is Million Dollar Arm (PG), starring Jon Hamm. Refreshments will also be available. 2:00-4:00pm

October 11 – Zumba® @ the Library – Certified instructor Dana Trampas returns to lead our free Zumba® classes for people ages 13 and up (under 18 with parental permission). Be prepared to work out & have fun! 11:00am-12:00pm

October 11 – Knit & Crochet Group – New members always welcome! Join fellow crafters from every skill level. Learn tips and tricks and share projects you’re creating. 1:00-3:00pm

October 13 – Magic Show featuring Gary Kantor – Come watch a thrilling and entertaining magic show packed with vanishing acts, mind-reading tricks, and funny stuff to have you rolling on the floor laughing! Limit 75. All Ages. 11:00am-12:00pm

October 14 – Storytelling Time with Miss Nancy – Storyteller Nancy Newlin brings stories to life with interactive tales, improv, puppets, and music in this fun new program for all ages. Limit 25. 10:00-11:00am

October 24 – Toddler Art – Join us for stories and hands-on activities and unleash the creative toddler within. Ages 2-4-years-old with caregiver. 10:00-11:00am

October 25 – Friends of the Library Meeting – The Friends of the Franklin Park Library support the Franklin Park Library through volunteerism, fundraising activities and sponsorship of programs and activities. New members are always welcome. 9:30-10:30am

October 25 – Party with the Friends of the Library! – October 19-25 is National Friends of the Library Week. Join the Friends to celebrate! Refreshments will be served and a free prize raffle held. 1:00-3:0pm

October 28 – Tales from the Library – Get ready to hear and share some scary stories and eat some delicious s’mores!  Please don’t forget to bring a flashlight with you to this program. Ages 9-12-years-old. 6:00-7:00pm

October 30 – Halloween Storytime – Put on your Halloween costumes! We’ll listen to Halloween stories then go trick-or-treating in the library! Limit 75. All Ages. 6:00-7:00pm

October 31 – Morning Movers Storytime – Let’s sing, play, and read in this storytime for babies and toddlers. Ages 0-3-years-old with caregiver. 10:00-11:00am

October 31 – Anime Club – Watch your favorite anime and draw your own manga while feasting on Japanese snacks! Ages 12-years-old and up. 6:00-7:00pm
