Open House-Northlake City Hall remodeling completed.

| May 5, 2013

An open house was held on April 25th at Northlake’s newly remodeled city hall, between the hours of 5:30 PM and 9PM.

Mayor Jeff Sherwin and other city officials were present to greet residents and guests. A string quartet was center stage playing music through the evening. Food was served with hors d’oeuvre’s, deserts and beverages all available to visitors.

About two-thirds of the building has been remodeled in a modern business look. Light colored wood tones and common brick walls meet to punctuate a use of the old with the new building materials. The art deco is done with artifacts and photographs highlighting Northlake’s history. The new layout is arranged to help expedite city services to residents. All this beautifully done in an impressive way in which residents can be proud of.

I would suggest you take a look-see if you missed the open house. After speaking with Mayor Jeff Sherwin, I was advised the project was funded by a state grant procured by Angelo “Skip” Saviano when he was the State Representative. The state grant was for $500,000 with the total project coming in at a final cost of $523,000.
