Dance Recital “Once Upon a Dream” Saturday, May 9th 2:00pm
Location: East Leyden Auditorium, 3400 Rose Street
This celebration performance highlights the artistic talents of our local children. You will be entertained by the expressive grace of ballet, sharp edgy moves of hip-hop, energetic moves of cheerleaders and creative tap steps. All residents are invited to spend the afternoon applauding and encouraging their young neighbors!
Ages 3 and up: Fee: $7 in advance/$9 at the door; ages 2 and under are free

Pool passes are now on sale at the Community Center
The early bird rate for Pool Passes goes until May 9th. Residents rate is just $29 and non-residents is $39
After May9th, rates increase to $39 for Residents and $49 for Non-residents.

Discovery Day Camp
Mon-Fri, Jun 1-Aug 7
Before and after care available 7-9am and 3-6pm
Ages 4-11 years
Location: Centre at North Park
Our award winning day camp engages your child in meeting new people, exercising their imagination and experiencing new activities/trips. Theme days, field trips, onsite demonstrations and special event days send your child home with a lot to talk about. We pride ourselves as the area’s best summer camp because of our unique combination of qualified staff, fun activities, amazing trips and air conditioned facilities. We offer a wide variety options to meet your scheduling needs.

Teen Camp
Mon-Fri, Jun 1-Aug 7
Before and after care available 7-9am and 3-6pm
Ages 12-14 years
Location: Centre at North Park
Teen camp is designed for older campers wanting more adventures. With six field trips per session, your camper travels around the Chicagoland area! Campers not only learn responsibility but take part in team building activities to get to know each other better. $25 one-time registration fee for Teen Camp.

Sunshine Camp
M/W/F or Tue/Th, Jun 1-Jul 31* 9am-12pm
Ages 3 ½ – 5 years
Location: Sunflower Nature Center at North Park
This is a great way to introduce preschool children to a fun camp experience. Campers enjoy plenty of free play, nature walks, gardening, arts and crafts, outdoor play stations, water play, sports and making new friends. Each week is centered on a fun theme. All activities are centered on a fun theme.

Tot Camp
M/W/F, Jun 1-Jul 31 * 9am-11am
Ages 24-35 months
Location: Community Center
This Camp is designed to let little ones do what they do best-play! Our smallest campers get messy with sensory arts and craft projects, play games, enjoy sports and gym time, sing songs, dance, read stories and have snack inside the cool Community Center. The children will also enjoy plenty ofindoor free play and occasional water play outside on hot days.

Adult Athletics
Men’s Softball League
Mon/Weds or Tues/Thurs; May 11 thru Early Aug. • games at 7, 8 & 9 pm
Where: North Park Ball Fields
Grab your friends or co-workers, dust off those spikes, and take the field. Teams play a regular season and double elimination tournament so you are kept active all summer. Played at beautiful North Park, games are scheduled once a week. Managers must attend a mandatory meeting before the start of the league. For more information contact Dan at 847-455-2852.

Adult Programs and Trips
Knitting, Crocheting & Needlepoint Club
First and third Tuesday of each month • 1:00-2:30 pm
Location: Community Center, 9560 Franklin Ave.
This free program is designed for anyone who would like to learn how to knit, needlepoint, crochet or simply get together with others to complete their projects. Two members have volunteered to bring extra supplies and give tips and instructions to those who may need them.

CPR/AED Training Adult & Child plus Infant CPR and First Aid
Sat. May 16 •10:00am -1:00 pm
Location: Community Center
This course includes CPR and training in using an AED on an adult and child victim of sudden cardiac arrest. This course will cover breathing and cardiac emergencies for adults, infants, and children, as well as first aid topics such as sudden illness, heat and cold emergencies, and basic precautions to prevent disease transmission. Certification is good for two years.

Sunset Yoga

This evening program is designed for the participant who is looking to wind down their busy day with relaxation and meditation. We will also focus on breathing technique and the different yoga stretches.

Zumba Toning

Location: Centre at North Park
Zumba toning combines targeted body-sculpting exercises and high energy cardio work with Latin-infused Zumba moves to create a calorie-torching, strength-training dance fitness party. Zumba/Step increases cardio and calorie burning, while adding moves that define and sculpt your core and legs.

Zumba uses captivating Latin rhythms and simple dance moves and creates a fun, fast-paced fitness program. This class features routines with interval training sessions where fast and slow rhythms are combined to tone and sculpt your body while burning fat.

Looking for variety in your workout? Each week we learn a different routine starting with a warm-up followed by hi-low aerobics, step or interval training. We also concentrate on muscle toning and strengthening using free weights. Class ends with a relaxing stretch. A wide selection of music is used to keep the workouts fun and exciting, including rock, pop, Latin and dance! *Please bring an exercise mat, weights and water bottle.

The Park District offers various fitness classes including Adult Aquacize, R.I.P.P.E.D., Yoga, Total Body Fitness, Step, Zumba, Adult Hip-Hop Cardio and Table Tennis.

Fitness Center
Now offering junior memberships for ages 11—17!!!
Have your parent register you for The Fitness Center at the Park District of Franklin Park; 9560 Franklin Avenue The fitness center includes two separate rooms and 17 state-of-the-art Life Fitness machines. A Fitness Center pass may be obtained at the Community Center, with various membership plans to choose from. A yearly pass is less than $10 per month, payment plans are available. Fitness Center hours are 6 am-9 pm Monday-Friday, 9 am-6 pm on Saturdays and 9 am-7:30 pm on Sundays.
