VIRTUAL ASSISTANT
With the shrinking payrolls and the economic turn down there’s
been a jump in demand for small business operators to hire
virtual personal assistants to do various tasks.
Duties range from making travel arrangements to sending out
letters and other support services that can easily be handled
remotely by e-mail and/or by phone. All of an administrative nature.
Virtual assistant training programs are available at many community
colleges. Most of them can be taken online. At Portland Community
College, for example, courses are available and can be completed in two
terms.
Look for openings at the International Virtual Assistant Association …
www.ivaa.org, or at Virtual Office Temps … www.virtualassistantjobs.com.
You may, also, try Team Double-Click … www.teamdoubleclick.com.
They are all reliable sources.
The qualifications typically call for desktop publishing, spreadsheets and
database management. Some experience in an office administrative function
would be helpful.
The hours are flexible, part time and split shifts.
The pay range runs at about $15.00 an hour, but can earn more
than $30 an hour.
