  • would-be travelers
  • life-long learners seeking  to enrich their lives, and
  • those wishing to improve their skill with English can also benefit from the ESL courses.

All of these courses are available free of charge .

The courses require access to a computer/ smart phone and the Internet.  We want to remind you that as a Franklin Park library cardholder, you have free access to any of the 32 computers available in the Library.    The Library also offers free wifi throughout the building.

Join us during National Friends of Libraries Week, October 21-27

Friends of the Library is a nationwide movement which encourages residents of community libraries to join together and work to strengthen library services.   The Friends of the Franklin Park Library was a vibrant and effective fundraising group in the 1960’s and 70’s.  A new group of Friends formed recently and hopes to provide the Library with funding to support programs and enhance services. The group took over the management of the library’s ongoing booksale when the library reopened after last April’s remodel.  Public response has been positive and August revenues doubled.   The Friends are working hard to keep the shelves filled with attractive, affordable items.

The Friends Group is seeking individuals who can attend a monthly meeting and donate several hours a month to help with the book sale and other fund raising projects.  The Next meeting will be October 27 at 9:30 AM.   Come join us.
